Carel assists on a pro bono basis young people in obtaining basic skills with respect to etiquette. This happens in group sessions where certain topics are discussed on the basis of questionnaires and preparatory meetings.
Special attention is given to young people from other cultural backgrounds, for whom the Dutch customs may not be self-evident, and who may have different perceptions in respect of certain elements in the Dutch culture. In sessions with people from various cultural backgrounds, the differences in cultural approach are discussed, with the aim to bridge those differences from an understanding of why and how these issues are approached in another manner.
