Since 1979 Carel van Lynden (1952) is working as a lawyer (advocaat) in an international practice (https://www.tenholternoordam.nl/advocaat/cvlynden/). Also, Carel has been honorary consul for the Republic of France for 25 years.

Carel among other things is chairman of the board of Operadagen Rotterdam (www.operadagenrotterdam.nl) and the Foundation for the preservation of the Grote- of Sint Laurenskerk in Rotterdam, and secretary/treasurer of De Laurenspenning (www.laurenspenning.nl).

For his charitable and social activities Carel has been nominated Officer in the Order of Orange-Nassau and Knignt in the Order of Merit of France. Carel also has been awarded the Wolfert van Borselen-medal of the City of Rotterdam.

He lives with his wife near Rotterdam.
